Old Social Networks Are Coming Back!

Ugur KILCI Blog

I claim that old social networks are coming back, and I’ll explain why below.

After social media took the world by storm, the side effects of social networks have reached a point where they could even alter human DNA. Most people are now fed up with this. Never mind governments; even social networks themselves don’t have a clear solution to this.

This is exactly where things come into play.

The first news I saw was a few reports about MySpace making a comeback as a social network. Now I’ve seen this news from Orkut.com.

Two examples might not seem like much, but this could turn into a trend. Because, if you recall, when Twitter became “X,” alternatives like BlueSky, Mastodon, and Threads also began to emerge.

As a result, I’m predicting that in the coming period, old social networks may make a comeback one by one. New networks might even emerge.

In fact, I’ve started seeing a few new network concepts, ones focused on offline interactions.

Anyway. That’s my prediction. I’m writing this here so I can say “I told you so” if it comes true in the future. Joking aside, this is an exercise for me to broaden my entrepreneurial perspective.

After all, my goal is to become a globally influential entrepreneur.
